LINING THE WALLS OF THE OFFICE

When planning an office space it is important to provide the employee with a comfortable and pleasant workplace. You will be working for a minimum of 8 hours and, if you are looking for a good performance, it is important that the walls of the office do not fall down on you.

It is always possible to leave them bare or decide to paint them. However, at DESMON we suggest wall cladding and wall covering. In this way, the walls will become a very important decorative element. Moreover, wood for walls is always part of the decorative trends.

REASONS FOR USING WOODEN WALL CLADDING

The walls of an office are visible to everyone. That is why it is important that they look good. It goes without saying that wood is a noble material that adds elegance to any room. However, there are even more reasons to use it as a wall covering

  • Wood for walls turns any room into a cosy and comfortable place.
  • Wood grain becomes a decorative element.
  • It is a versatile material that can be worked to achieve different finishes.
  • Wood cladding works very well as an acoustic insulator.
  • The presence of wood for walls makes it very easy to hang pictures, pictures or photographs.
  • Doors and windows can be integrated and follow the same design as the wall cladding.
  • Adequate lighting on the wood can enhance the pleasant sensations in rest areas or waiting rooms.
  • The surface is soft, smooth and very pleasant to the touch.
  • Wood wall cladding is elegant and adds a touch of class to any meeting room or office.
  • If phenolic wall cladding is installed on the wall, neatness is assured. It is easy to clean and extremely hygienic.

TYPES OF WOODEN WALL CLADDING

At DESMON we have been equipping offices for many years. Therefore, we know that wood for walls is always a safe bet and we have developed different ways of working it to reduce its cost. We offer wood cladding with different applications and properties. These are our possibilities for wood for walls.

CONVENTIONAL CLADDING

The first system for wall cladding is conventional cladding. These are panels made of chipboard or MDF-based panels. In their production, hardwood and softwood are mixed and processed with the help of resins. This results in high quality wood veneers that can be lacquered or painted.

It is also possible to achieve different finishes in natural wood with a varnished or lacquered look. This conventional lining can have the appearance of hardwoods such as oak, cherry or cedar. Another interesting option is the melamine finish, which gives the wood considerable strength.

If conventional wood wall panelling is combined with a false ceiling in a similar tone, a uniform and original design can be achieved.

ACOUSTIC LINING

Wooden wall cladding takes on another dimension with acoustic cladding. The reason for this is that, in addition to an elegant result, a very effective sound insulation is achieved. Topakustik® panels are sound-absorbing and offer two interesting advantages:

  • they insulate the room from outside noise
  • they optimise the indoor sound quality

Acoutic lining are commonly used in sports halls and gymnasiums. They are also used in concert halls, rehearsal rooms or auditoriums. Installing this acoustic lining together with office flooring such as Flooring ensures total acoustic insulation of walls and floor.

The installation of the acoustic lining is quick and does not require major building work. In addition, the panels can be installed on flat or curved surfaces. Last but not least, the aesthetics are guaranteed.

PHENOLIC LINING

The main characteristic of phenolic wall covering is its hygiene. Phenolic material is made from cellulose mixed with natural resins. The result is a smooth panel with a special feature: it has no pores. It is this detail that gives it the quality of hygiene because no microorganisms or bacteria can proliferate on the surface.

It is impact-resistant and does not deteriorate under humidity, heat or water vapour. For this reason it is used in gymnasiums and washrooms. However, its versatility allows phenolic flooring to be installed throughout the office. There is a wide range of colours that facilitate its use in corridors or meeting rooms. It is also common in communal canteens or in office break areas.
